Qalandia -
Qalandiya Airport was opened in the 1950s and had become between then and the 1967 a window to the world. After the 1967 War, the airport was taken by the Israeli army and served as training airport. In the first Palestinian Intifada (1987-1993), the airport was shut down and no activity was seen. In 2002, the Israeli Stat started the construction of the Separation Wall between "Israel" and "Palestine." The Qalandiya Airport (which contains buildings and green palms and trees) is engulfed by the concrete walls from 3 sides creating an Oasis.
