Between the past and the present

Asira ash Shamaliya -  The past is our collective history, our ancestors’ identity. This is a building that was built hundreds of years ago, but it couldn’t have been restored and preserved without the new age technology and engineering. In the ancient past there were no kitchens, they prepared food, washed the dishes, and did the laundry outside the houses. But the conservation of the buildings connects the past to the present, and hence the addition of this small room that contains a kitchen and a few cupboards, which make the historic building suitable for modern-day use.
