Rotterdam -  Everytime I enter Rotterdam by train I have to think of a Portuguese friend who -fresh from Schiphol- saw these cottages. She was shocked that in a prosperous country as the Netherlands a huge amount of slums were situated along the railway. I can not face these holiday garden houses anymore without thinking of this observation.
