Lagos -
Well, the two photos I will send today deal with water. I will like to put the photos under the titled borrow from a sociologist Annalisa Butticci called Creativity and Survival. Looking at how ordinary lagosians especially the new comers strive to make the city functional for them where the government has failed to provide basic amenities like water, roads, electricity, health care etc.
One of the Hausa new comers pushing cart filled with jerrycans of water to be supplied in Ikoyi, an upscale parts of Lagos.
This encounter with the jerrycans water supplier in Ikoyi an upscale part of Lagos brought a kind of complex questions to me. How come the rich neighborhoods still have to rely on the less privilege people from Obalende for water supply?
