Dhaka -
Rafique Uddin runs his little tea-shop in a slum that stands near the ‘Beribandh’, the embankment to protect the city of Dhaka from possible flood of the River Buriganga. Besides running this tea-shop, he herds some goats what he plans to sell at good price during the Eid-ul-Adha, the religious festival where the Muslims sacrifice animals commemorating Prophet Ibrahim’s commitment to sacrifice his own son in obedience of God’s request. It becomes a practice among the slum dweller to keep and breed animals like pigeons, hen, goats and sometimes cows.
