National secretary office of Catadores

Sao Paulo -  Despite the informality of the job of catadores there is a support organisation that helps the collectives organise themselves. The only principle the collectives have to accept is, work as a collective in a solidary economical way. The autonomy of the collectives is respected by the national secretary. Every collective can decide how to operate. The secretary office helps them teach what they need to know whether it is how to split materials, what the value is just as what their rights are, what the law says. It also develop programms for selfesteem by organising Latin American Congresses for Catadores. The office is packed with pictures of the Catadores receiving medals of honour from Lula, the president.
